I think you may try going to the LG official website (LG Mobile Drivers and Software), they have several drivers there. Is that what you are looking for?
also, you can look through 4pda options if you're curious enough.
There was a notification on my daughter's computer about an update to USB driver for her LG Smartphone. I proceeded to click on the download link. The first one took probably a half an hour to install, the second one is still installing. It's been close to an hour and it's starting to freeze my screen and cause other issues. I really don't know what to do and would also like to know what the LG SP USB driver is for?

The LG SP USB driver is required in order to transfer, flash, and manage content from and to your phone. The USB driver requires installation. After its installation, the LG phone is available for browsing in My Computer/Computer. If you deny, or remove its installation, then any of the mentioned procedures won't be available. I recommend keeping it installed on your computer. However, if it takes a very long time to update, you can simply close the process and then open it again. It should continue from where it was left off.
